Will recommend 5 finalists by May 31

I wonder

what would happen if one of the applicants had a personal relationship with one of the selection committee members?

Egads. Mike Puto?

You gotta be kidding. Puto is running the search committee? This is not going to end well.

Does anyone see any flaws..

so far in the plans? There are plenty of good school administrators out there---find one.

There is a problem with finding effective administrators because

they are all out of touch with the happenings in the classroom. Thus, they set forth lofty, nearly unattainable goals and guidelines for teachers and hammer them with pay-cuts and admonishments for struggling to satisfy the egos of those sitting in the upper office with their feet up on the desk designing the next set of fantasies to live by in the school environment. The truth is the majority of administrators have left the classroom because they could not handle the daily classroom operations. If you cannot handle the classroom, you have NO business stepping into the role of "leader."

Problems from the start

Who chose the committee members? Who are they? What are their qualificions? Are they members of the School Advisory Councils? Why is there only one student? When it gets down to five, who will do the interview...certainly not all 21 members. Each school's SAC should have had one person from each area on the committee - parent, teacher, student, community member and staff member 5 from each school. These are the people who know what is going on in the schools and the District. These are the people who attend the monthly SAC meetings. These are the people who understand what the schools and the district needs to be successful.
