From supervisors and technicians to receptionists and janitors, Keys Energy Services paid many of its employees more than their Florida Keys counterparts in both the public and private sectors last year. Among public employers, the power utility paid the highest salary for 12 out of 17 rank-and-file categories, according to the Key West Chamber of Commerce's 2011 Wage and Benefit Survey.
It's one thing for the Wicked Witch of Key West to meddle with City affairs, but when she starts casting her evil eye at the cushy salaries of bubba utilities, she could be in for a dunking in hot water.
Her Wickedness seems to forget that she's more highly (and overly) paid than Norma Jean was. And she forgets that battle over the Chamber's secret slush fund.
A word of advice, honey. Sniff around all you want, but if you get too close to the sacred FKAA, you'll get burned.
