Conchs' Quad wins games with placement, defense

KEY WEST -- It has been a year of unexpected superlatives for Key West High School senior Rachel Quad.

First, it was the honor of being chosen Homecoming Queen, much to the surprise of the tomboyish Quad.

Her biggest accomplishment, by far, she said, is being named the Monroe County Softball Player of the Year for 2012.
